Useful Life Certification
Certifying the remaining useful life of plant, machinery and equipment for accounting, asset management and lending purposes.
Axium's partners individually hold Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Engineers (India), including a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers. They certify useful life, technical condition, customs and export-scheme compliance for plant, machinery and equipment, from used-machinery valuation and third-party inspection to PLI/subsidy verification and SEBI DRHP filings. Alongside Axium Valuation Services LLP's IBBI Entity Registration (IBBI/RV-E/04/2021/144), this means a single engagement can draw on both a technical Chartered Engineer certificate and a certified valuation opinion, without coordinating separate firms.
Chartered Engineer status is held personally by Axium's partners and is separate from the firm's IBBI entity registration.
Axium's partners issue Chartered Engineer certificates covering the physical condition, remaining useful life, and customs, export and regulatory compliance of engineering assets, drawing on engineering qualification and site-level judgment.
Certifying the remaining useful life of plant, machinery and equipment for accounting, asset management and lending purposes.
Technical valuation of imported second-hand plant and machinery, supporting customs clearance and duty assessment.
Technical certification of Standard Input Output Norms and adhoc norms fixing raw material consumption against finished export output, per DGFT Appendix 4K.
Site inspection and certification of machinery and equipment condition and specification prior to shipment.
Technical certification supporting Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) scheme compliance and duty drawback claims.
Chartered Engineer certificate establishing the nexus between imported capital goods and the export product, per DGFT Appendix 5A.
Confirms capital goods are installed at the authorization holder's premises, closing out EPCG import obligations with DGFT within the prescribed timeline.
Technical verification of plant, machinery and production capacity supporting investment claims. See PLI scheme investment verification and government subsidy valuation.
Independent certification of fixed assets, production process and plant layout for a Draft Red Herring Prospectus. See Chartered Engineer certificate for IPO.
Independent inspection by certified engineers to verify equipment quality, compliance and performance as per technical and regulatory standards, for companies and agencies procuring, commissioning or accepting industrial equipment.
These are separate credentials issued by different bodies. A Chartered Engineer's certification covers technical and engineering matters; an IBBI Registered Valuer issues the certified valuation opinion. For plant and machinery in particular, technical condition materially affects value, which is why the two are often combined in a single assignment. See our full comparison, Registered Valuer vs Chartered Engineer vs Income Tax Valuer.
Yes. Axium's partners individually hold Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Engineers (India), including a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers: Harihar S (Chartered Engineer Registration F-125668) and Kamalakannan C (Chartered Engineer Registration M-1564255). They issue Chartered Engineer certificates as part of client engagements. This is a personal credential held by the partners, separate from Axium Valuation Services LLP's IBBI entity registration (IBBI/RV-E/04/2021/144).
No, they are separate credentials issued by different bodies. Chartered Engineer status is granted by the Institution of Engineers (India) to individuals; IBBI Registered Valuer status is an entity-level registration under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India. Axium's partners hold Chartered Engineer status individually, alongside the firm's IBBI entity registration, so a single engagement can draw on both without coordinating separate firms.
Technical and engineering matters: physical asset condition, remaining useful life, replacement cost, production capacity and process verification. This is distinct from, but often combined with, a financial valuation opinion.
Common examples include SEBI's ICDR requirement for an IPO/DRHP filing, investment verification under the PLI scheme and other government subsidy programs, useful life certification for lenders and asset owners, customs valuation of used machinery, preshipment inspection, fixation of input-output norms, and EPCG or duty drawback claims.
Useful life certification, used machinery valuation for customs, fixation of input-output norms (SION), preshipment inspection, EPCG and duty drawback certification, Nexus certification and Installation Certificates under the EPCG scheme, PLI scheme and government subsidy verification, third-party inspection (including Factory and Site Acceptance Testing), and Chartered Engineer certificates for IPO and SEBI filings.
Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), equipment validation and commissioning, and quality control verification, carried out by certified engineers against technical and regulatory standards. Inspection reports are prepared for companies and agencies procuring, commissioning or accepting the equipment.
